Evening Song

I sing of a tranquil autumn evening,

            of pale blue skies

            lined with down,

            of chilling breezes

            wafting through the trees.

I sing of vibrant colors

            cascading over the horizon

throwing the landscape into sharp relief,

of the final passing of the sun

as it is consumed once more.

I sing of chirping crickets

providing a symphonic lullaby for the earth,

of the sky, illuminated with light anew

as the webs of stars descend upon it.

I sing of blissful, precious silence,

            of glistening morning dew,

            shining in the rosy dawn

at the birth of a new day.

I really like this poem a lot. It creates the feeling that you are out there enjoying nature yourself.
